Whether you have your eyes set on a future trip or you're already booked on a tour, this article will walk you through how to confirm a tour's arrival and departure dates.
Overview of arrival dates
When reviewing an itinerary, Day 1 will always be the day you leave your home to begin your travels. When you choose a tour date, that date corresponds to Day 1 of your itinerary. It's important to note that this isn't necessarily the day/date you'll arrive to your destination.
The day you arrive to tour and meet your Tour Director and tourmates will be labeled "Arrival" on your itinerary. For example, "Day 2: Arrival in London." If you're traveling within North America, you'll likely leave your home on Day 1 and arrive to tour the same day. If traveling to Europe, it's very common to board your overnight flight on Day 1, but you won't arrive to your destination until Day 2. For tours to Australia and New Zealand, travelers depart for tour on Day 1, but don't actually arrive to tour until Day 3 given the long travel distance and time difference. These are only guidelines, as this information can vary depending on your flight routing and tour itinerary.
Overview of departure dates
Your hotel accommodations end on the itinerary day labeled "Departure." For example, "Day 11: Departure." If you're signed up on your tour's extension, make sure you're looking at that departure day in your itinerary. If you're not traveling on your own after tour, this is the day you'll fly home. Depending on your flights and tour itinerary, you may arrive home on the same day you begin your return journey, or you might arrive home a day later.
Booking your own airfare
Confirming tour and travel dates is especially important if you're booking your own airfare. You should review your specific itinerary from your online account to verify what day/date you should arrive on the tour to meet up with your group and what day/date you should fly home. We also recommend contacting our Traveler Support team before booking your own airfare so they can review standard flight times and reconfirm tour dates with you.
