We want everyone to get the most out of their experience with us, so our tours offer some solutions for travelers with assisted listening devices.
Our itineraries include headsets during specific sightseeing tours so travelers can hear their guides or Tour Directors, even from a slight distance. Typically, travelers are given a headset, receiver, and earbud. If you use an assisted listening device, such as a hearing aid or cochlear implant, we may be able to provide alternative solutions to best suit your needs.
Please note that not all our destinations currently offer headsets due to supplier limitations.
What EF Adventures can accommodate
All EF Adventures headsets are equipped with a headphone jack that can be used with an induction loop, over-ear headphones, or personal technology. If requested in advance, EF Adventures may be able to provide travelers with an induction loop or over-ear headphones. Travelers who bring their own devices should also bring an AUX (auxiliary) cord for connection purposes.
If you require ASL interpreting on tour, we ask that you plan to travel with a personal interpreter. We offer flexible discounts for interpreters who need to be booked on tour for this purpose.
Requesting an assistive headset
If you're interested in booking a tour...
Call us at 1-617-1679 to speak with a Tour Consultant about any assisted listening devices you use. They can help you determine what solutions are right for you. They know our tour itineraries inside and out, so you can feel confident booking your dream trip.
If you're already booked on a tour...
To request an assistive headset, please leave a note under your online account's “Health notes” section. In your note, indicate whether you prefer an induction loop or over-ear headphones.
Submitting this note and including your assistive headset preference is very important so we can do our best to equip your tour with the right technology. Even if you’re bringing your own device to plug into the EF Adventures headphone jack, please still leave a note in your account so your Tour Director is aware. We’ve included step-by-step instructions on how to enter this information below.
If you’re booked on a tour that doesn't offer headsets, we’ll follow up to let you know. We can best accommodate requests submitted 45 days before departure (if your tour offers headsets). Please note that we can’t guarantee requests because our supplier determines availability.
We want you to feel prepared and excited as you embark on your adventure! If you have any questions or concerns related to assisted listening devices, send us a message.
